Comments and lessons learned

Comments:

No negative comments have been received since the Deforestation in Central America was launched. However, some statistics gathered since June 2000 to December 2004 indicate that the number of visitors is increasing over time and that these visitors come from both inside and outside Central America.

Success in terms of direct hit increases to main page

From June 14, 2001 to December 2008, we are approaching the 30, 000 direct hits mark

From January 2009 to December 2013 there were 9, 488 visitors.

Lessons learned

The main lesson learned is that it takes time for visitors to start noticing your site, but once they do, they start coming back or mentioning your site to others and bringing this way ongoing traffic. And this to me is an indication that many people inside and outside Central America are finding the information and ideas presented here still useful. It also indicates that being patient is one of the components of future success.
